HAVEN of Bozeman: 'Rooted in Relationship' Support Group Domestic abuse. It affects more than the survivor. If you're helping a friend or family member who's in an abusive relationship, you may feel overwhelmed at times. If so, 'Rooted in Relationship'--a new weekly Bozeman-based support group--can offer you the assistance, community, and confidence you might need. Organized by Haven, 'Rooted in Relationship' is for friends and family of domestic violence survivors. Adopt-A-Manatee program: Adopt-A-Manatee program The first settlers to America believed that manatees were mermaids. The Adopt-A-Manatee program was co-founded in 1981 by Jimmy Buffett to help educate people on the effects of boat strikes on these gentle giants, which account for over 34 per cent of all Manatee deaths. Adult Children of Alcoholics: Adult Children of Alcoholics Bozeman Adult Children of Alcoholics is for people who grew up in alcoholic or dysfunctional homes. ASPCA: ASPCA Protecting animals and humane education have been the focus of the ASPCA for over 130 years. You can help. If you see animal cruelty, the local humane society wants to know about it and so do the police. Spaying or Neutering your pet helps reduce the number of animals born each year. ASPEN Network: ASPEN Services Do you feel unsafe in your relationship? Is a partner displaying violent behavior, making you feel threatened? There is help. ASPEN - Abuse Support & Prevention Education Network - provides free confidential crisis intervention and advocacy for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as emergency shelter and legal counsel. Baby Bistro: Baby Bistro The Baby Bistro is a Free mother to mother support group staffed by Certified Counselors from the Gallatin and Park County Breastfeeding Coalitions. Buffalo Field Campaign: Buffalo Field Campaign The Buffalo Field Campaign works to prevent mass killing of wild buffalo crossing the Yellowstone Park boundary into the state. Bozeman Folklore Society: Celtic Music Events The Bozeman Folklore Society has something for Celtic fans. Celtic Jams take place Sundays from 2 to 4 PM at Bunkhouse Brewery, 7715 Shedhorn Drive near Four Corners. MSU Office of Health Advancement: Food Assistance Programs MSU students needing food assistance have several Bozeman-campus programs they can turn to. There's the Bounty of the Bridgers Food Pantry, with free supplemental and emergency food support, weekdays at 1102 S. 6th Ave. The Saturday Pop-Up Pantry—with produce and bread—is located in MSU Family and Graduate Housing. Students facing hunger during the day can get snacks at special Grad N Go Snack locations around campus. Heart Initiative at MSU: Human Trafficking in Montana The HEART Initiative at MSU-Bozeman works to increase awareness about human trafficking in Gallatin County and beyond. Founded in 2016, the Heart Initiative is an MSU student organization committed to trafficking education and prevention. Through the Gallatin County Human Trafficking Task Force, the HEART Initiative collaborates with community members and local organizations to end human trafficking, support trafficking survivors and prosecute those who commit the crime.
